A norwegian's adventure in England, through an internship with NMS

Network youth church.

NYC, or network youth church, is a consept where the aim is to create a church where young people want to come. Most of the things I am involved with in my internship are network youth church. The churches in the area contain mainly elderly people, and are bound to tradition. As part of NYC we want to meet the kids in invironments they are used to be in. None of the things we do are in a church building, except one of the school assemblies. We meet in schools, a village hall, homes, and an hotel.

We have fellowship, and we eat or drink something together. We also read from the bible, talk about life, sing/worship and pray. So the content is basically what you normally experience in a church, but you don’t do all the rituals.

It’s a really good way to meet. Still, I sometimes miss other generations. I think that it is important to know people from all the generations. By spending time with other generations old and young can learn from each other, both life skills and from the spiritual adventures.
